Auditions for “To Kill a Mockingbird”
Auditions will be held for Harper Lee’s classic “To
Kill a Mockingbird” Monday and Tuesday evenings, November1st
& 2nd at McDonough Presbyterian Church from 7:00-9:00
pm. (Directions may be found at the church website: mcdonoughpresbyterian.com)
Everyone should come prepared with a 1-2 minute monologue.
You will also be expected to read from the script. Callbacks,
if necessary, will be held Thursday, November 4th, at 7:00pm.
Characters

Jean Louise Finch - Scout
grown older but re-living the dramatic
moments of her youth.
Scout - Young girl about
nine years old or older. Very forthright, honest.
Jem - Scout's older brother.
(12?) Protective, struggling to
understand his father.
Atticus - Their father. Late
40's. Reserved. Quietly courageous.
Dill - About Jem's age, maybe
younger. Friend. Respects Atticus.
*Calpurnia - Their housekeeper.
Proud, capable. Self-educated.
*Tom Robinson - Strong man
falsely accused. Shows kindness and dignity. Sensitive.
*Helen Robinson - Tom's wife.
In shock because of the accusation against her
husband. She's living a nightmare.
*Reverend Sykes - Minister.
Well-respected. Preacher voice.
Maudie Atkinson - Neighbor
lady. About Atticus' age. Good woman.
Stephanie Crawford - Neighborhood
gossip. Loves stirring things up.
Mrs. Dubose - Elderly neighbor.
Ill, bitter, angry.
Nathan Radley/ Boo Radley -
Father/reclusive son. Saves Scout's life.
Walter Cunningham - Hard-up
farmer. Shares the prejudices of the time, but can be reached.
Heck Tate - Town sheriff
who does his duty without favor.
Judge Taylor - Does what
he can to see justice done. Sympathetic to Tom.
Mr. Gilmer - Prosecutor who
regretfully does his job.
Bob Ewell - Small man. Poor,
petty. Cruel. Insecure.
MayElla Ewell - His daughter.
Lonely. Overworked. Fights to survive.
